Weather has been wonderful for the most part. Sunny and nice for the whole moving weekend. Some snow and very cold nights since then. The only problem this has caused has been trying to get the new sod to take root. It required twice-a-day watering so we would sometimes wake up to ice-stalagmites. Since we have no back yard, per se, Henry uses the front yard for his business. That also led to ice-encapsulated poops. Last week I turned off the sprinkler system and drained the hoses for the winter. The grass looks very nice and should hold for the winter now.

Kevin was doing some holiday-overhire work for a toy/game/costume store across from his mom's salon. He used to go in there all the time after school waiting for his mom to get off of work, so all of the employees knew him well. He was hired for a few weekends before Halloween and for Halloween night. This store is very popular. People line up before opening and they also have to form a line outside on the weekends. That's all over now and Kevin was not kept on.

Now I'm going to go move all the stuff in the garage to one side so I can park my car inside.

Yahoo! A photo of Megan! Now...you need to get those compact bulbs FULL SPECTRUM! They have them at Wal-Mart and Home Depot, helps keep the SAD away during cold dark winters! We have them in all fixtures, 3 way, a big one over my sewing table for true color seeing. 4 4foot Ott lights on my sewing room ceiling. and a smaller 2 1/2 foot light for over my shoulder. No need for the expensive lights they sell at Joannes (Ann will have seen these) now that full spectrum lights are available cheaper.

Got a laugh out of the snow shovelling! You've been in Colorado how long now?

Hope the snow doesn't hold you up, or just make things messier than they need to be. Wow! Have a great time...keep the photos coming! xoxo Mommy

Puppy is still in the potty training process. Or, rather, we still are. Crate training would make it easier, but we decided no to press that route just yet. We try to keep to a routine of every 1 to 1 1/2 hours to take him out. He has a routine of where he wants to pee as we have some grass right in front of our apartment and a whole long strip across the parking lot specifically for dogs which includes poop bags and a trash can. He lets us know when he has to go, but if we are distracted and not observing him he wont bark for us at all.

One of the reasons we got Henry before we moved in is that I wanted to potty train him on the apartment carpets, not our new home. So far that's been a good plan. For a while, he'll stay in the exercise pen and on the area rug.

The kids are very excited. Megan has packed up most of her stuff but Kevin was with his mom last weekend. We'll spend this weekend packing as well.

We are hiring real movers to handle the big stuff and I'm paying a fish store for tank moving services as well. We'll try to handle box moving ourselves in a small moving truck and use the movers for all the big stuff. Ann's opera shop has an account with Ryder so maybe she gets a discount.

We've had a couple of overnight snows so far, but it all melts away in the sun the next day. Our sod is still rooting and the landscapers say to keep watering until it takes root, maybe another week or so, then they'll blow out the system for us.

The kids have visited the house with me several times but the pictures I've taken have mostly been during the week when the kids are at school. Once we get moved in they'll want to show off their rooms. Megan is anxious to move in with me to finish high school next school year, if not sooner.
